Company Summary

NU-RISE developed a real-time radiotherapy monitoring system for radiotherapy. With ou solution radiotherapy can be safer and truly adaptive, by helping doctors target the cancer, protecting patients from unnecessary radiation and preventing severe secondary effects.

NU-RISE seeks 2.5M€ that will span the next 18 months of the business plan: production, marketing, extend the number of patents, 4 paid pilots in 2020 and CE marking.

  • Luís Moutinho
    Co-founder and CEO

    During his PhD, Luis was abroad in international collaborations: LBL Lab, (Berkeley ,USA) and IFIC (Valencia,Spain). He has +10 years of experience in innovating and R&D. He’s the co-inventor of a PET system licensed to a multinational company. Since the start of NU-RISE, Luis obtained more than €250000 in non-dilutive funding and € 175 000 in equity funding. Luis participated in several entrepreneurship programs and won several prizes.

  • Joana Melo
    COO

    Engineer with a history of working in designing and developing of medical devices.
    At NU-RISE since 2017, she has participated in several international accelerator programs: MC Boston and HVL by GE Healthcare.
    Together with Luis, Joana lead the development of the product and NU-RISE's operations. She was involved in more than 75000€ of non-diluting funds.
    EYIF with the US Embassy selected her among the top 30 entrepreneurs in Portugal.

  • Rafael Chelim
    Hardware Engineer

    Rafa is our geek(iest) friend and electronics guy. He is an Electronics Engineer with industry experience and he doesn't have fear to fly high! He also has a small side project (startup) where he developed a full solution for powered paragliding.
