Company Summary

New Hope Farm (NHF) is a female, sole ownership, business that was established in 1990 as an organic farm that grows vegetables, herbs and fruits for both wholesale and retail sale. It is a 17 acre farm located east of Rapid City and south of Rapid Valley, but only 1-3 acres are used for growing on a rotational basis and in hoop houses. NHF has three (3) hoop houses to help extend the growing season. One is 30x96 feet and the other ones are 20x24 feet and 20 x 48 feet. Zita Kwartek is the owner and main farm worker with usually 2-3 seasonal employees.
On a separate 7.5 acre plot, that is part of the 17 acres, there is a 40’x40’ building that already has electricity, phone and water in it. The building needs a new roof and needs to be refurbished inside. It has a 5,000 gallon cistern that is attached to a surface well but with attaching it to an already deep well, on the other 9.5 acres, there would be plenty of water available. One major service not available is a sewer system, which will need to be added. Once these items are done, then New Hope Kitchen and Bakery will be open for business.
Zita already has her ServSafe certificate, which is necessary to run a certified commercial kitchen.
