Company Summary

Nemies is a literacy application scientifically proven to help millions of children across the world who suffer from the difficulties associated with speaking and reading the English language. The software tracks student progress and tailors lessons to appropriately challenge students, while gathering valuable data for educators. Through partnering with the DIBELS assessment test, the product will be sold initially to school districts.

Team

  • As the first staff members of a grassroots start-up nonprofit called Kids on Bikes, Lindsey succeeded in developing the organization into a sustainable entity positioned for expansion to additional chapters. Lindsey has experience implementing new strategic education initiatives at both United Way and Oregon Community Foundation. Lindsey is a second year MBA student at the University of Oregon studying entrepreneurship and nonprofit management.

  • Derek has experience working at a variety of public and private special education programs in Arizona and California. Specifically, Derek has worked with children who suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger’s Syndrome, and other cognitive impairment issues. Derek is a third-year law student at the University of Oregon studying business law, as well as a second-year MBA studying entrepreneurship.

  • Alec has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and has extensive experience in ecommerce and financial services. In his past experience as an Account Executive for GovX.com, Alec managed vendor integration and oversaw sales, customer service, and operations. Today, Alec is a staff editor for the University of Oregon Law Review, and a second year law student at the University of Oregon School of Law focusing on business entrepreneurship.
