    Dr. Doug Witherspoon is a plasma physicist with 40+ years of research experience dedicated to applying plasma technologies to industrial, defense, space, and energy applications. Doug is a co-inventor of NearStar’s fusion energy approach and responsible for prototype development of the plasma gun driver, fuel capsule and reaction chamber.

    Prior to joining NearStar Fusion Dr. Case served as a Senior Scientist with HyperJet Fusion Corporation. Before joining HyperJet, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the Maryland Centrifugal Experiment (MCX) at the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics, University of Maryland College Park.
