• A for-profit new product exploration and processing center, that will remove significant roadblocks currently facing growers and producers in NW Vermont seeking to create / commercialize new products.

    Executive Director

    Ms. Shelmandine, is currently the Business Manager and Sales Development Leader for a 12 year old Vermont-based sauce, marinade and dessert topping business – “It’s Arthur’s Fault”.

    It’s Arthur’s Fault has grown from stove top production with sales at local farmers' markets to having distribution in outlets throughout New England and a growing on-line commercial presence. The products have been featured in the NY Times and Wine Spectator.

  • Arthur Ross Shelmandine
    Consulting Chef

    Mr. Shelmandine is an accomplished and creative chef, consulting recipe development specialist, developer of all 25 of “It’s Arthur’s Fault” products, and teacher of cooking classes for 12 years in Vermont.

    Arthur will play a key role in providing clients with recipe development, ingredient sourcing, processing and packaging consulting. He will also support the education center with lectures, demonstrations and cooking classes.

  • Chris Simms
    Farming Lead and Educator

    After a career in education, Chris worked for several innovative agricultural operations in Vermont – including some of the earliest CSA’s established. Currently, she runs her own lamb and poultry business. Chris will operate the on-site farm at the center and lead the education division, offering programs for growers, gardeners, adults and kids.
