MitoStem is a stem cell technology company based in Detroit, whose proprietary processes and technologies to reprogram adult cell (skin or blood) will ultimately bring new stem cell therapies into the clinic. MitoStem’s process is safer for future therapeutic applications than competing technologies. MitoStem is initially targeting the research market. Dr. Eliason has worked in stem cell research for over 40 years at institutions around the world. Dr. Eliason received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Chicago. He has worked at Roche in Basel, Switzerland and Kamakura, Japan. He was a founder and CSO of Asterand, the human tissue research services company. He is Director of the Great Lakes Stem Cell Innovation Center and is adjunct faculty at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
