Seán, (MEng, BEng) has over 19 years’ experience working in the technology sector in a variety of roles, most recently as a consultant engineer, researching and developing solutions for a variety of Medical clients such as Boston Scientific & Vectura.
His research and development on medical devices combined with his Machine Learning projects in automotive convinced Seán of the opportunity to work with Dr Ahern on Diabetes Smart Hospital Vision.

In 2015 Dr Ahern was appointed as Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist in the Louth Hospital Group in 2016.
He has over 30 publications in peer reviewed endocrinology journals and has a particular interest in reproductive endocrinology and metabolic bone disease. He has conducted clinical trials using steroid hormones and incretin therapies. Dr Ahern is currently a referee for the British Medical Journal and for Clinical Endocrinology.

Senior Embedded Software Engineer and IT Architect with over 16 years’ technical and development experience in both multinational corporations and start-up IT companies. Expert knowledge of embedded systems, firmware development, Bluetooth LE, Cloud/ Mobile/ Edge computing and Internet of Things ecosystem combined with excellent project management skills.
