Marvin Jemal was born in New York. He finished his graduate studies at the New York Academy of Art and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from this university.

This painter prefers to paint outdoors than in closed atelier.

He seeks simplicity, and prefers direct observation of nature. He performs sketches and preparatory studies from life, in the open air, immediately transcribing his visual impressions of him.

Then, on the basis of the sketches, he paints the finished picture in the studio. Marvin Jemal uses bright colors, which faithfully reproduce the effects of light.

He paints directly from life with brilliant impressionist-like coloring, gradually simplifying the application of the paint.
