Our purpose is to make the exquisite, high-quality, handcrafted products of the Zapotec people available to discerning and socially conscious buyers around the world, from retail stores to on line buyers. By connecting these artisans with new markets, and paying fair trade prices, we will help to perpetuate the superb artistry of the Zapotec people, and at the same time help to improve their lives and their community.

    "Paco" Santiago was born and raised in the Zapotec weaving village of Teotitlan, and is now a village leader. He has been a weaver since age 8, and has 20 years experience with exporting to the US. He speaks perfect English along with Spanish and Zapotec, and understands how to gain the trust and confidence of people in every culture.

    Company Owner

    Shelley has had a lifetime of experience as a manager of community development programs and was a partner in a successful start up outdoor adventure business in the 1980's. She gained personal knowledge of the Zapotec community in Oaxaca, Mexico as a volunteer in a microfinance program in 2010 and 2011. Her goal is to start a successful fair trade business and through that to help to alleviate poverty in the Zapotec community.

    Liz has extensive on line operations experience as a manager at LuLu's and also small business ownership experience in antiques. She has a great deal of insight into the worlds of fashion and home decor, as well as the requirements of on line marketing. Liz also has experience in product photography, and a passion for weaving and anything hand made.
