MAKKU is the first domestic makgeolli (sparkling low-alcohol sake) brand in the States. Korea’s oldest alcoholic drink, makgeolli is traditionally made with three ingredients: rice, wild Korean culture (nuruk), and water. Creamy, slightly sweet and sparkling, makgeolli is very easy and enjoyable to drink once you are introduced to it.
We seek to penetrate the States as a viable alternative to beer, hard cider, and other fermented beverages.
