Thomas Smith graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Cognitive Science and Anthropology. Smith founded his first company in 2002, and has led entrepreneurial ventures ever since. Smith's duties include managing the legal and financial aspects of Magpie, overseeing strategy for product development and market entry, and managing Magpie Sensing's relationships with partners, advisers, and investors.

Brendan Ebers is a mechanical engineer turned computer scientist with a passion for designing high-level solutions to complex problems, and then seeing those designs through to implementation. Originally from southern New Hampshire, Ebers now calls Baltimore home after earning a BS in Computer Science from the Johns Hopkins University. Ebers leads web development, database design, and data system design for Magpie Sensing.

Robert Douglas is an accomplished software and hardware developer, with a BS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and development capabilities ranging from high-level Python coding to C development. Originally hailing from Houston, Texas, Douglas leads firmware and control software development for Magpie Sensing. Douglas also leads hardware develop for the MP1, overseeing Magpie Sensing's electrical and mechanical engineering team.

Jonathan Smalletz graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008 with a Bachelors in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and in 2009 with a masters in the same field. Smalletz has extensive experience developing predictive algorithms, modeling and refining business processes, and managing large datasets. Smalletz left his job at a major DC consulting firm to lead analytics for Magpie Sensing.
