His work bridges the gap between software and hardware allowing for smooth in-house development of functional prototypes. Simon also has worked as an consultant for miLEAD, a nonprofit organization run by academic trainees to provide practical experience in collaboration with the business community.

She helped identify the medical need that LaparAssist addresses and gave crucial feedback for prototyping and designing LaparAssist.
