    CEO & President

    Dr. Kuehnle’s expertise in developing and producing specialized microalgae is the basis for the technology and products at the Company. Dr. Kuehnle has over two dozen years of experience in plant breeding and bioengineering at Cornell University and at the University of Hawaii. Dr. Kuehnle has a BA degree from Middlebury College and a PhD degree from Cornell University in Plant Breeding. She is an inventor of 20 patents and applications.

    Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO)

    Mr. Ritchie has over 20 years of experience working on product commercialization and business development. Mr. Ritchie’s focus at KAS is product development and operations management. Prior to KAS, Mark was a product manager at Silicon Graphics; VP at Scottish Development International and Business Development Officer at the Canadian Trade Offices in the Bay Area. Mark holds BA and MA degrees in economics from UC Berkeley, Tufts respectively.

    Chief Operations Officer (COO)

    Mr. Johnson has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction and operation of industrial facilities. His vast experience in manufacturing ranges from aeronautics (Pratt & Whitney), renewable fuels (American Renewable Fuels), construction (Suitt, Obayashi, Takenaka, and Taisei), farm product wholesalers (Perdue Agribusiness), research and testing (Ethyl Corporation) and pharmaceuticals (Fujisawa and Sevier Labs).

    Mr. Rickert has extensive corporate financial leadership experience across multiple industries, notably as CFO for the Post of Oakland, and NYSE-listed Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Inc., VP Accounting for PLM Intl.

    Dr. Paul Zorner has over 30 years of experience in senior management in agriculture and energy biotech. Dr. Zorner is the former President and CEO of Hawaii BioEnergy. Paul has extensive Fortune 500 and start-up experience including senior management positions with Principal Energy, Diversa, CellFor, and Dow Chemical.
