Company Summary

JVPLabs is a start-up company founded by two physicians - Dr. Andrew Smith and Dr. Jason Roberts - to develop the JVPhome, a medical device designed to enable home assessment of the jugular venous pressure (JVP) for patients with congestive heart failure. This ground-breaking approach will reduce costly readmission rates associated with CHF by identifying and supporting management of high-risk patients in their home.

  • Dr. Smith is a family and ER physician and Associate Professor (Memorial University) with over 10 years of clinical experience. Andrew has completed a Master’s degree in electrical engineering. Dr. Smith secured early promotion to Associate Professor at Memorial University after only 6 years. During this time, he has secured $1.5M in research funding, helped develop a Biomedical Engineering program, and provides guidance to startup companies.
