RipSeq, our software-as-a-service for clinical laboratories, is used to rapidly diagnose infections from DNA sequencing data by solving the bioinformatics problem of DNA sequence ID. It allows hospitals to significantly cut costs, improve mortality, and improve their workflow. RipSeq is currently used (bacterial, fungal, and soon viruses) in 60 major laboratory customers around the world (including Stanford, Mayo, ARUP, CDC and others).

He holds a BA CS from Texas Lutheran College and a Candidatus Magisterii in Informatics from the University of Bergen, Norway.

He developed Isentio's algorithms, cloud solutions, and web ­server deployment through server-­side parallel processing, and is considered by many to be a leading authority in his line of work.     May Kristen Røen, COO, is experienced at scaling early-­stage companies. She has served on the boards of 10 companies and non-­profits, and has an international finance and business development background with multiple European and US startups. May earned an Executive MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and an engineering degree from the University of Adger.

  • Neil is a serial entrepreneur and has sold two of his own companies and 12 years of executive experience including sales, marketing, engineering, and finance. He previously worked at the Stanford Genome Technology Center sequencing pathogens and helping develop new genomic technologies. He has also been a healthcare management consultant and investment banker. Neil holds a BS in Bioengineering from UC San Diego.
