Dr. Heinz trained in biophysics at Johns Hopkins University and did postdoctoral work in single molecule microscopy in the Laser Applications Group at NIST, after which he returned to Hopkins to work on protein patterning related projects. He has an exceptionally strong background in biophysics and optics, and experience working with patterned substrates and cell culture. He is a co-inventor of the patented patterning approach.

Mr. Sharp's 30-year career spans private venture-backed businesses, mid-size and Fortune 100 public companies in the life science tools and services, diagnostics, and medical device markets. He has unique insight into the market challenges and opportunities for ISI. He has raised over $35M in VC investment, played a key role in the sale of 3 firms, and commercialized over 500 products and services.
