Company Summary

InSpark's founders have a passion for helping people with diabetes live a healthy, normal life. We are developing software tools that help transform the significant amount of blood glucose data captured by patients (more than 25 B tests per annum) into useful insight. The algorithms powering our software were conceived and tested by one of the top thought leaders in diabetes algorithm development, Dr. Kovatchev at the University of VIrginia.

    Prior to InSpark, Erik worked for LifeScan (a Johnson & Johnson company) in business development and professional marketing, most recently as Business Development Director, LifeScan Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). While at LifeScan he was integral to the execution of several important transactions in the diabetes medical device industry. He is the author of several publications and presenter at several professional meetings.

    Co-Founder

    Dr. Karl Otto is a certified Medical Physicist and adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia. Karl is best known for his groundbreaking development of VMAT treatment, a software algorithm that improves the speed of radiation therapy delivery while also improving dose distributions to spare healthy tissue. VMAT is now used in over 1000 radiation therapy centers worldwide.
