Ankit AgarwalPresident and CEODr. Agarwal, PhD is leading the development of Imbed’s platform technologies he co-invented in his post-doctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2007-2012). He brings 15 years experience in biomaterials and translational research, with a PhD from Iowa State University. Dr. Agarwal received one year training to commercialize scientific innovations as an Entrepreneurial Postdoctoral Fellow of the Kauffman Foundation.

Nicholas L AbbottChair of the BoardDr. Abbott, PhD is a Professor and past Chair of the Chemical and Biological Engineering department in the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with 30 years of research experience in colloidal and surface science. He is inventor of Imbed’s nanocoatings technology. Dr. Abbott is a cofounder of a nanotechnology company Platypus Technologies (Madison, WI) that develops and market liquid crystal based sensors for air pollutants and medical diagnostics.

Michael J SchurrMedical OfficerDr. Michael J. Schurr, MD is a burn and trauma surgeon and general surgeon at the School of Medicine, University of Colorado-Denver. He practiced at University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital from 1993-2011. He brings 30 years of experience in advanced care of chronic ulcers, burns and trauma wounds. He has successfully led clinical trials of several advanced wound dressings and surgical meshes.

Jeff brings more than 15 years’ experience developing novel biomaterials and medical devices. Previously, Jeff helped cofound Nerites Corporation, a start-up that commercialized an innovative surgical adhesives. At Nerites, Jeff gained broad start-up operational experience through the company’s successful acquisition in 2011.

Gaurav brings 11 years of chemical and computational research experience. He worked as senior engineer at Dow Chemical Company for the prior 5 years on innovative inks, functional paper coatings, adhesives, textiles and non-wovens.
