    Dedicated his career to astrophysics and applying its experimental techniques to many research fields. As a Senior Astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics for 21 years, he directed a multi-million dollar program of X-ray spectroscopic imaging, optics and cryogenic physics. He has 130+ publications, was a recipient of a NIH Challenge Grant and the George E. Burch Fellowship for new medical applications and has 14 patents.
