According to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), 300,000 American Veterans have returned home with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Every day, 18 of them take their own lives. In 2011 the VA stated that PTSD is the leading unreported disease affecting Veterans. Horses Healing Veterans of Central IL provides effective treatment that allows Veterans and their families to begin the journey of healing from combat-related stress.

    I am the Owner/Founder of Horses Healing Veterans of Central IL. I hold a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology and have extensive equine experience. I have worked in the field of Mental Health for over 20 years in a variety of settings. I started HHVCI one year ago after recognizing the need for Veterans to have access to a program that allows them to begin the healing process from that profound invisible wound of war PTSD.
