Hooc is an iOS application that lets college students make new friends through a random anonymous chat. Hooc’s vision is to make smaller networks and intimate environments in any community. By integrating a Facebook API, the application is able to use similarities in preferences to connect two college students on an anonymous chat. 
The application competes in the market by presenting a clean user interface, safe user experience and an enjoyable communication feature. Users can swipe up to see entertaining conversation topics, such as recommending each other a good restaurant, or how they met a random mutual friend from Facebook. When each user presses on the ADD button, each are added to the friends chat list.
Famous social apps such as Instagram and Facebook focus on building relationships with pre-existing friends, while random chatting apps are considered shallow. However, Hooc provides a secure environment by limiting the population to only college students.
