Company Summary
The concept of Holbeck Industries is to provide a unique entertainment/restaurant venue just on the outskirts of Leeds city centre. The establishment will provide live music, art galleries as well as street food provided by local restaurants which will be offered for a better price due to lower catering costs. Venue rental services will also be offered for any local businesses interested in the place. Holbeck Industries is in a start-up position, with a beginning date of November 2015. The business is going to be registered as a limited partnership with 2 business partners involved. Matthew Wegner is studying Events Management at Leeds Beckett University (formally Leeds Metropolitan University) and he has been working for different event companies as well as one of the oldest venues in Leeds for the past 2 years. Through these jobs he networked with influential people within the Leeds event industry who are helping to make this business venture possible. They will help with promoting the venue as well as bringing the music artists to play at the venue for a discounted price, which will help decrease the start up costs. Due to it being a growing market, there is not much competition at the moment and the profit margins are high therefore this is the best time to enter it. We also believe in our unique idea which is hoped to be a massive advantage in the market. Adam Want has been involved in the Urban Art scene since a young age therefore he can push the art side of the venue very well. We are passionate about events and art therefore, we are determined to succeed with this business venture. Opening this venue will prove our passion towards the events industry. The company expects to lease venue space from November and have a two-month renovation of the current space. We anticipate opening our doors to the public at the beginning of December with a possibility of delaying the opening until January. We are working closely with an expert within the industry who has held a managerial position for the past 5 years. He will be working at our venue as a general manager when we open our doors to the public. As a venue, we will be offering a unique decor inside promoting street art which has not been done before in the UK. Guests are not only offered a dynamic place to gather and mingle, but also a place to participate in the entertainment through interactive contests, theme nights or live art shows. We intend to heavily utilize entertainment oriented marketing in an effort to withstand the perpetual shift in trends and cater to as large a client base as possible. The venue is just over 3,000 square foot spread over three rooms. The main room will accommodate 450 people and the bar room is to be approximately 220 capacity.
