The Platform will be a one stop shop for all Hobby Related activities. It has the following features. Though there are separate platforms for many of these features, but there is none which is integrated and gives a single view and specific for hobbies.
1) Directory Listing: This will include Mentors, Institutes, Students, Shops and Studios
2) Learning Platform: Will have features for Online and Offline Learning. It will also host courses created by Mentors and also by our company. These courses can be downloaded at a cost by students.
3) Marketplace: This will have features of Buying, Selling and Auctioning of purely hobby related items
4) Collaboration: The platform will have features for collaboration between students-students or students-teachers-stuidents or teachers-teachers and create a virtual hobby room where they can share their ideas and work together.
5) Advertisement Platform for students, mentors and manufacturers
The platform will be launched in Kolkata first and based in the experience it will be rolled out in Chennai, Bangalore followed by Pune, Mumbai and Delhi. Following this it will be rolled out Pan-India and Globally.
The primary channel for advertisement will be online though newspaper, billboard, TV and other physical medium will also be used to an extent.
The market is disorganized, has a information asymmetry and needs a platform through which the right services can be found out quickly at the right price.
Market size for such a platform is huge and there is not a single platform which serves end-2-end. The overall skill development market in India is Rs. 5.9 trillion and even by a very conservative standard of 2% for hobbies, the market is Rs 10 Bn. and Out of the total population of 1.2Bn in India approx. 27- million is middle class and above which can be addresses and brought on to this platform.
