Company Summary

In 2011, Sidney Crosby, was hit in the head in a hockey game. He likely had a concussion but played the next game where he was hit again and then sat out for a year. He had "Second Impact Syndrome", which permanently injures 200,000. kills 50,000 athletes every year and costs America $20,000 per person or roughly $4-billion dollars annually. The HeadCheck app aims to reduce these instances by improving the concussion assessment process with mobile software, improved & objective measures, and data management solutions.

Since launching our product 90 days ago, we've sold our services to 9 customers, established relationships with key stakeholders in the Canadian Intra-University Sports league (CIS), the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) and Canadian Provincial Sporting Organizations, and are now serving over 50 teams or over 1500 athletes.

    Kerry has 8+ years of Management and Marketing experience, with emphasis on consumer products. Her expertise centers around creating and executing customer service standards and customer retention strategies. Kerry earned her MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the University of British Columbia.

    Harrison is a concussion subject matter expert, inventor of the HeadCheck balance scoring methods, and key technical lead. He is a former athlete with the Hong Kong National Rugby Team, and varsity rugby player at the University of Guelph. A PhD candidate and MSc. at the University of British Columbia, Harrison works out of the Sensorimotor Physiology lab where he is specializing his studies in mild TBI & sports-related concussion.
