    Tom started his career as a high school math teacher in New Orleans, Louisiana and taught for one week prior to Hurricane Katrina making landfall. Following the storm, Tom helped start a school for evacuees and worked for FEMA before reentering the classroom after schools reopened in New Orleans. Since then Tom has been a teacher recruiter and development director for TFA. Tom recently completed a joint MBA-MA Ed from Stanford University.
