Gyroid was founded by an engineer and physicist at the NASA Langley Research Center. The company has developed an ultra-high performance bicycle tire built from a Nickel-Titanium superelastic metal mesh inspired by NASA rover technology that does not need inflating, never goes flat, is impervious to punctures, weighs less than a conventional pneumatic bicycle tire, and transfers less road vibration to the rider.
