The Yansa Group partners with communities to sell renewable energy to utility companies, creating a stream of income that supports robust and diversified local development. Yansa has developed a scalable process for indigenous, peasant and fisherfolk communities to make use of their territorial energy resources. We engage in the wind farm process from start to finish, and work with communities on governance and plans for community development.

Sergio OceranskyDirectorBorn in Spain, Sergio studied Development Economics in Germany and Human Geography in the UK. Sergio spent a decade working with peasant and indigenous organizations, and then worked as Coordinator of the World Wind Energy Institute (WWEI) in Denmark, a network-based organization aimed at democratizing access to wind energy know-how and technology. Sergio is a Ashoka-Lemelson Fellow and is the co-founder of the Yansa Group.

Josep PuigDirectorJosep Puig is a renewable energy pioneer. He was co-founder of Ecotecnia, which became one of the 10 largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world and is now Alstom Wind. Josep was President of the European Network on Cities and Energy. He works as consultant for Ecoserveis and Ecofys; teaches at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; and serves on the boards of numerous renewable energy organizations, including Eurosolar.
