GoPPiggie is a Commercial farm project that has begun on a secured farming land with the aim of building the farm into a commercial and revenue making industry. The farm already has pigsties and poultry house with 7 sows and 2 boars , and on September 2016 with an introduction of 800 broilers and another 800 layers for the first stream.
In our premier estimation, the sows will be used to breed 8-12 piglets per litter (56 litters by the end of December 2016) .
The main marketing products are going to be eggs, poultry, bacon, sausage and pork for large sized distribution. Our targets are to distribute between 1000-3000 crates of eggs , and over 200,000kg of pork meat and poultry annually. We want to produce again in huge numbers , if only we can get an investor to support us to begin an immediate expansion regime. Based on our projections, I can assure Angel Investor(s) a potentially greater source of revenue after the first year 2016, with every single production per year close to about 300-500,000 GHS from poultry revenues and 300 -500,000 GHS from the pig revenues per year. Furthermore, our four strong sales points (private, public, direct and contract sales systems) has been well developed and will be channelled into the supply and marketing of the larger number of pork, poultry and eggs throughout the year to meet the dynamic market demands. The local and urban regions of ECOWAS is in a deficit of quality livestock and poultry producers to meet the higher demands of the dynamic markets. Imports of these products have increased dramatically,gradually syphoning establishments of an indigenously based livestock(pig) and poultry processing industry that seems lucrative and profitable some 10-15years ago with a commanding revenues of between US$2-US$10 million per annum. Small scale livestock production had been slow to keep the pace with the increase in demand. Commercial Pig and Poultry farming probably have the highest profit potential of all farm animals production due to the litter sizes, quick pace expansion, quality feeding and availability of feed and short time conversion of the quality feeding program to produce much more eggs, poultry and pork meat! One of the targeted areas to maximise our profits and returns will be a special focus on broiler and pig expansion. Outstanding and superbly function hogs and soars will be bred for lean tissue growth rate, low food conversion and excellent carcass quality.
I am very zealous about the existing market size and the potential increase in demand for poultry and pig products in both the local and international(ECOWAS, Asia, European)markets.These region’s consumer population (is now about 100-200 million, which is expected to grow triple by 2020) with an estimated US$ 50 million to be made yearly from the industry.
