GeoOptics was founded to commercialize environmental data from space. Our founders are pioneers in space technology and originated the GPS Radio Occultation (GPS-RO) technique, used daily in more than 80 countries. GPS-RO makes critical measurements of the atmosphere with unrivaled accuracy and forecast impact at a breakthrough cost. It is a top requirement for the US gov and agencies around the world. All are now seeking commercial RO suppliers.

    Former CFO of Geometric Results Incorporated, a Ford Motor Co. business and technology services subsidiary. During his eight-year tenure, GRI revenue increased from $3 million per month to over $800 million per year. Previously spent five years as a financial executive with Coca-Cola, including work on the IPO of Coca-Cola Enterprises. Post-GRI, Mr. Packer spent ten years in investment banking with Shoreline Partners and the Delphos Group.

    President & Chief Technical Officer

    Long-time NASA manager and researcher, pioneered the use of GPS for civil and scientific applications; past chairman of the Foundation for Earth Science; inductee into the Space Foundation’s Space Technology Hall of Fame. In 1988 Yunck wrote the first proposal for exploiting GPS signals to sound the Earth’s atmosphere for weather and climate applications. Since then he has been involved in every aspect of its development and validation.

    Retired Vice Admiral in the U.S. Navy; Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm; Deputy Chief of Naval Operations in charge of programs and budget; Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere; eighth Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), 2001-08. Graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy; M.S. and Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Harvard University.
