  • President

    Emily is a graduate from University of Calgary with a degree in biomedical sciences. Emily led various technical teams to world stage including a genetic engineering competition at MIT. She was one of the five global finalists at the Present Around the World competition, and serves as a board member of the Canadian Prairies Group of Chartered Engineers. Emily has been recognized by various groups and has been selected as a Kairos Society Fellow.

  • David has worked in projects as diverse as DNA assembly, bio-fuels, environmental remediation, and biosensors. He has managed complex innovation programs for various groups such as MindFuel, where he developed a high school science based innovation program that was adopted across Alberta. He has been nominated as a Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine and servers as a board member for the Alberta Women's Science Network.

    Karen is a corporate/commercial lawyer, practising for most of her legal career as concurrent in-house counsel for two technology-based companies - taking them from either start-up or early growth through to acquisition. She has experience drafting, negotiating, and managing a broad range of contracts (acquisition agreements, reseller agreements, technology licenses, commercial leases,infrastructure hosting agreements, construction agreements).

  • Director, Corporate Strategy

    Simon is a business consultant focused on new business start ups and business turnarounds. He has over 25 years of business experience, working in IT, oil and gas, warehousing, trucking, rail and waste management. He has worked as an employee and as a shareholder in private and public companies and is familiar with a variety of business challenges, including operational efficiency, safety, financing and cost rationalization.

  • Gary has over 17 years of venture capital experience as Partner with a leading Canadian healthcare and life science venture capital fund. He participated in over 35 financing's, many as a lead or co-lead, and invested over $100 million in life science, agriculture and healthcare companies. He was appointed to the board of over 15 venture-backed companies. Prior to this, he was a Research Associate at two multi-national pharmaceutical companies.
