Company Summary

Floresta was established in 2010 by private investors to design, finance and develop two of the world's largest forest carbon projects in Indonesia and in Brazil. Our objective is to demonstrate that private investment can improve local livelihoods, conserve forest environmental services, and achieve private equity levels of return by linking commercial forestry, bio-mass energy, improved agriculture and carbon credits and offsets.

    Mr Virta has nearly 40 years experience in renewable forest resource management and the development of sustainable value-creating processes. He began his career as General Counsel to the Jaakko Pöyry Group in 1972 and retired as CEO of Jaakko Pöyry Consulting Network in 2002.
