    CEO, Founder

    John is a mathematician, a lawyer and the inventor of the Ethelo decision engine. In 2000 he founded Pivot Legal Society, now one of Canada’s leading human rights organizations. He has been internationally recognized as an Ashoka Fellow for his work as leading social entrepreneur and advocate for justice and the rights of marginalized persons. After serving as Pivot’s Executive Director for 10 years, John left to create Ethelo.

    John Stonier (CA) is a senior executive, CFO and management consultant who specializes in business development, growth strategy and financial management. In 2007, John took Day4 Energy to a $100 million IPO in the TSX. His career experience includes holding key positions in telecom, internet, renewable energy, electric vehicles and entertainment.

    CTO, Co-founder

    Kent is a software engineer and lawyer specializing in public interest law & technology. He consults with governments, businesses and non profits on collaborative technologies and is a legal expert on open source software, copyright and privacy policy. He develops the code and API for the Ethelo software.

  • Sharon Jessiman
    CFO, Co-founder

    Sharon is a CFO, administrator, and the founder of Glasshouse Capacity Services Society. She has provided consulting services to dozens of charities, from OpenMedia to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. She’s also served as CFO for the Canadian Paraplegic Association and Sierra Legal Defence fund (now Ecojustice). She handles the administration and daily operations of Ethelo.
