Jon is an experienced microfinance professional with a successful track record managing two international community investment funds before founding Envest. He has an MS in Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Masters in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. Jon created Envest out of his conviction that poverty and environmental degradation are inextricably linked.

As Envest’s portfolio manager and second employee, Laura is heavily involved in Envest’s daily operating and strategic planning. Laura has experience interning at a Kenyan Microfinance Institution (MFI) and is a competent Spanish speaker. She received her BS in agricultural economics and has a certificate in business from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
