Dr. Horne co-founded EnerVault recognizing the need for enabling the use of intermittent renewables and avoiding the high costs of under-utilized assets for peak electricity requirements. Dr. Horne has been leading the development of energy technologies for over 20 years with experience in lead-acid and lithium ion batteries, and fuel cells. Dr. Horne holds a Ph.D from UC Berkeley, MS from UC Los Angeles, and BS from the University of Florida.

Thomas E. ColsonChief Operating Officer and Co-Founder
Mr. Colson co-founded EnerVault bringing 20 years of operations leadership experience to the challenge of establishing the company’s operations and manufacturing capabilities. Prior to EnerVault, Mr. Colson was Vice President of Manufacturing at Tesla Motors where he built and led the global operations required to produce a high performance, all-electric car. Mr. Colson holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley.

Thomas JahnChief Financial Officer
Mr. Jahn brings 30 years of experience leading successful companies supplying generation and distribution equipment to electric utilities in the global market. His experience includes vice president of M&A and CFO at the Energy and Power divisions of Raychem and Tyco Electronics. Mr. Jahn holds degrees from the University of Dortmund Germany and completed the Business Executive Program at Stanford University.

Ronald J. MossoChief Technology Officer
Mr. Mosso leads the development and scale-up of EnerVault’s novel flow battery technology, applying his 30 years of product engineering, operations, and business development experience in materials-driven companies. During 15 years at Raychem, he led several product development programs from R&D through commercialization. Mr. Mosso has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and is a Professional Engineer.
