    Tara is a writer, editor, and an adjunct English instructor. She has a Master of Arts in English/Creative Writing from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. in Professional Writing from Baylor University. When she is not working on Empirical or grading papers, she is writing a novel, and on weekends, watching movies and playing games with her stepchildren.

  • Olav Bryant Smith
    Managing Editor, Art Director

    Olav is a philosopher, writer, photographer, and singer-songwriter. He has a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion and Theology from the Claremont Graduate University, where he was editor of Process Perspectives and Editorial Assistant for Process Studies. Olav is retired from the Philosophy Department at CSU Chico, teaches Eastern Religions at Butte College, and is the author of Myths of the Self. He enjoys playing basketball and hiking.
