With over 50 years of professional experience in management and customer service, Mr. Tjelta has been the driving force behind Empire Hydrogen since its inception. As an entrepreneur he has owned and successfully operated businesses in a variety of sectors, developed and implemented company policy, sales and marketing programs, investment strategies as well as human resources.

A co-founder of Ballard Power Systems and General Hydrogen Corporation, Mr. Paul Howard is an internationally acclaimed hydrogen technology expert. As Vice President of Ballad, Mr. Howard provided strategic direction to Ballard with corporate responsibility for transportation systems. Paul also led teams to develop complete hydrogen solutions as Vice Chair of General Hydrogen Corporation.

Chris started his career as a hi-tech product designer, was a founding partner in an R&D business and has worked as project manager at several leading edge companies such as IBM. Chris has been GM of Empire Hydrogen since 2009, providing a wealth of business experience, team building skills, and in-depth knowledge of product design, development and manufacturing.

Jo has over 25 years experience in hydrogen technology, and over that time has contributed to several patents related to hydrogen. He was a Project Manager at Ballard Power Systems in Burnaby, BC, and at Powertech Labs in Surrey, BC. Jo not only has extensive experience in hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicles, but also KOH style electrolyzers for on-site hydrogen production.

Dr. Chen (PhD, MBA, CIM) has more than 15 years of technical leadership and business management experience in the high technology/manufacturing sector, both large corporation such as Saint-Gobain and small start-ups. Henry’s expertise in product development and marketing, and successfully managing a high growth business will be critical to Empire Hydrogen’s success. Henry also holds a Canadian Investment Manager designation.

Peter acquired his Bachelor of Science (Biology and Ecology) and Law degrees at McGill University (with a dual degree in common and civil law). He has assisted clients in the raising of capital in ranges up to one hundred million dollars, in Canada, the United States, Europe and Hong Kong.

Neil Huff has over 30 years experience in operational and senior management positions with companies ranging from seed stage start-ups to multi-nationals. Mr. Huff was previously CEO of Ballard Power's lithium battery division and is founder of Tekion, developing hydrogen sources to enable fuel cells to power portable electronic devices and integrated backup power systems.
