Effortless Energy offers free, easy home upgrades at no cost to customers. After a visit from an “Energy Expert”, we pay for and upgrade things like thermostats and air conditioners to make them more efficient. Then, we share in the realized energy savings we create. As a result, customers receive a more valuable, easier-to-control, smarter, more comfortable, quieter, healthier, and greener “Effortless Home” while saving money on their bills.

Team

  • CEO and Co-Founder

    Claire is a former McKinsey consultant who served the energy, financial services, consumer goods, and public sectors and also contributed to several of McKinsey’s public reports on carbon and energy efficiency economics. Claire led business development for Blue Star Energy, which was acquired by AEP for in 2012. She also worked in structured energy and infrastructure project finance at the Chicago Infrastructure Trust, leading a $13M ESA deal.

  • Matt Gee
    CTO and Co-Founder

    Matt is a data scientist and developer who has worked at the intersection of finance, risk analysis, energy, and environment. He holds an M.P.P. from the University of Chicago and is finishing his PhD in Computational Economics there. He built the Treasury's mortgage risk models during the crisis, is a University of Chicago Computation Fellow, and co-founded the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Data Science Fellowship for Social Good.
