Company Summary
Edmonds Turbine Company designs, develops and manufactures efficient, small gas turbine engines. Under the current economic environment, gas turbines have come to the forefront as a leading source of power production. In the near term, gas turbines will support the move to renewable power and provide a very cost effective source of reliable distributed power to manufacturing, office buildings, and data centers.
Team
-
Stephen Andrew EdmondsPresident
Mr. Edmonds is President and founder of ETC. He is an expert in compressor aerodynamic design and engine cycle analysis. He has developed design methods that led to the creation of world-class compressors used in the F-15, F-16, F-22 and F-35 aircraft. He has 48 years of experience in the design and development of gas turbine engines. Before retirement from P&W, he was Director of Business Development.
-
Thomas Auxier
Mr. Auxier is responsible for turbine heat transfer and durability. Tom is considered to be a leading expert in turbine cooling having received the AIAA award for the turbine used in the F100 engine (F-15 & F-16). Before retirement, he was the VP for Advanced Engines and Technology Planning at P&W. He has 50+ patents in the field of turbine cooling.
-
Paul Matheny
Mr. Matheny is responsible for structural analysis. Paul is a world-class gas turbine structural analysis expert. His experience in solving structural problems in the P&W F100 and F119 programs as well as industrial gas turbine engines for Siemens has given him a unique understanding of all of the structural issues inherent to the success of this project. He has nearly 50 years of experience in the field of gas turbine design and development.
-
Ken Nelson
Mr. Nelson is a structures laboratory expert with 50+ years of experience. He has a reputation throughout the industry as the foremost authority in structures testing. He has been instrumental is setting up a world-class structures laboratory at WCU.
-
Jack Sammons
Mr. Sammons is in charge of engine development planning. Jack’s vast experience in developing engines for the F-15, F-16 and F-22 has given him invaluable knowledge in the requirements for a successful engine development program. Jack is the father of the USAF Accelerated Mission Test. This test methodology is now standard procedure for the development of all new engines. Jack has 50+ years of experience in the development of gas turbine engines.
-
Bob Pierce
Mr. Pierce is the combustion expert on the ECC team. He has an in-depth understanding of all of the design and development issues associated with combustor design and development. He worked 35 years with P&W and has experience in the design and development of both large and small gas turbine combustion systems.
-
Ernie Wilcox
Mr. Wilcox is the ultimate test engineer. He knows how to build experimental engines and engine components. During his many years with P&W, he was responsible for testing compressor, combustors, turbines and complete engines. He has experience in both military and industrial engines including the development of low NOx combustors. He has 50+ years in the development of gas turbine engines.
-
Dan Brown
Mr. Brown is in charge if turbine aerodynamics and secondary flow. Dan has 30+ years of experience and knowledge in a wide variety of gas turbine engines and specifically in small gas turbine engines like the one being proposed.
-
Bruce Lyon
Mr. Lyon is the chief of mechanical design. Bruce has 50+ years of experience in gas turbine design particularly compressors including both small and large engines. His experience includes Integrally Bladed Rotor designs.
