e-SENS develops and sells analytical instruments including its patented solid-state chemical sensor technology. The product enables users to accurately and quantitatively measure a panel of up to 18 chemicals in a single 5 minute test which would otherwise require multiple tests and 10 times the effort with current products. The target application is potable water and includes the food and beverage and municipal water markets.

Prof. Brown earned BS and MS degrees in EE from Brigham Young. After working in industry for 6 years, he returned to school at the U of Utah and received a Ph.D. in EE. He developed one of the first “smart sensors,” an array of chemical sensors including electronics. He was on the faculty at the U of Michigan for 19 years and is currently the Dean of Engineering at the U of Utah. He has been involved in founding 4 companies with his students.

Jack W SunderlageSenior Advisor
Mr. Sunderlage earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
Jack took early retirement as Vice President of Global Accounts, West Region for Compaq, a part of HP, and then served as President and CEO of ContentWatch Inc., a provider of Internet Management software and services.
He received the Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology in 2007.
