Company Summary
Dookans makes it easier for people to find, order from, and pay mobile food vendors by leveraging mobile technologies. The company is currently the only mobile/online ordering solution for food trucks and carts.
With What the Trucks, customers can find food vendors near them, browse menus, and order and pay from their smartphone, tablet or computer. Customers enjoy an “express checkout” experience by avoiding long lines at food trucks and carts.
Orders placed through What the Trucks are sent directly to the food vendor’s point-of-sale (POS) or to Dookans’ cloud-based receipt printer. All orders are paid by credit card; Dookans processes these payments and then deducts a percentage of every order placed. The balance is then sent from Dookans to the vendor on a weekly basis (via ACH). This is the traditional revenue model followed by all major food ordering services (e.g., GrubHub, Yelp, Uber, Facebook).
