Company Summary

The Delridge Grocery Co-op will be a sustainable, self-sufficient, community-owned, healthy food access point in Seattle's last food desert. We will make food accessible to all, prioritizing local and organic products and sustainable business practices. We are in the midst of a membership drive, member loan campaign and hiring a startup General Manager to open in the retail space of Cottage Grove Commons in late summer, 2014.

  • Ariana Rose Taylor-Stanley
    Board Member

    Ariana brings experience at all levels of the food system to the Delridge Grocery board. In addition to her work with the Delridge Grocery, she co-owns and operates an urban CSA farm, coordinates policy advocacy work at Tilth Producers of Washington and the Northwest Farm Bill Action Group, and serves in the leadership of the Washington Young Farmers Coalition.

  • Tanya Gurb
    Project Manager Intern

    Tanya is a White Center community member of fifteen years with a heart for the W. Seattle Community. She holds a bachelor’s in Urban Studies and is currently working on a certificate in Sustainable Land Management with an advanced degree in Project Management. She believes healthy food should be accessible to all economic backgrounds and is excited to play a role in the development and execution of the Delridge Grocery.

  • Jessie Rey Howard
    Board Member

    Jessie Rey is an acupuncturist, yogini, and writer. A local Delridge neighbor for the last 9 years, she is living, working, raising a family, and urban farming. Jessie Rey is deeply committed to local community. and fresh nutritious living. She hopes to utilize this deep commitment to organize local gatherings and events focused on self-awareness and local responsibility.   • Sol Damaris Mendez
    Board Member

    Sol is a White Center community member with a beautiful, ethnically diverse family. For the past four years, she has worked at South Seattle Community College supporting students. Sol holds a BA in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Psychology. She believes that everyone should have access to water and whole foods without any barriers.

  • Brian Steyer
    Board Member

    Brian is involved with Delridge Grocery because of his strong interest in the co-op's mission to increase people's access to quality food products. He is a 2010 UW grad, who has firsthand experience with social media, marketing, and inside sales. When Brian is not working he enjoys learning about mushrooms, permaculture, and local food systems.

  • Ranette Iding
    Board Member

    Ranette lives in North Delridge, enjoys cooking healthy food for her family, and wants a sustainable and healthy grocery store in her neighborhood! She has an advanced degree in School Psychology but currently works as a stay at home mom. For the last four years, Ranette has brought professional and volunteer experience in community development, event planning, and advocacy issues to this project.

    Luke is an International Program Manager and Sustainability Champion at Microsoft, working with people around the world to localize technology in their cultures. Luke formerly directed the Green Business initiative at StartZone, a microenterprise development center, where he focused on delivering workshops and technical assistance to start-up food businesses. He holds an MBA in entrepreneurship and finance from Chicago Booth.
