Solomont’s 40-years-experience encompasses jobs in many industries, such as software, technology, media, gaming, and transportation. He is an early entrant into the personal computing software market. Moreover, Solomont is a software and Internet company investor. He invests in early stages companies. Also, he dedicates on providing advisory services to these companies.

He advises companies on business development, funding, mergers and acquisitions, and team building.

Solomont began working with computers in the early 1970s, as an undergraduate at Tufts University. He graduated from this university and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

In 1980, after attending MIT’s Sloan School, from which he holds a Master’s Degree in Management, Solomont founded Business and Professional Software, Inc., a company which developed graphics software for the Apple II. This software was marketed by Apple as Apple Business Graphics.

Starting around 1984, until the mid 1990s, he introduced a series of presentation software products for Apple computers and for MS-DOS.
In the mid 1990s, when Solomont moved into angel and early stage investing in software and Internet firms. In 1998, Solomont founded Common Angels and served as its CEO until 1994. Common Angels was one of the first institutionalized angel groups in the USA.
