With an exclusive deal with the Maryland state athletic association, we house and update the playoff brackets and results for every sport, and are the official home of schedules and results for the football teams of every public high school in Maryland, as well as the state's football playoff points standings. We are also the official schedule and results provider for the public high schools in nine counties in Maryland, encompassing 125 schools.

    Co-Founder, Managing Partner

    Roger brings more than 30 years of advertising experience to County Sports Zone. Roger formed The Caplan Group, a successful full-service ad agency based in Howard County, Maryland, in 1990. His role with CSZ is overseeing advertising, securing the school systems and ensuring that the business is on solid footing.

  • Ed Waldman
    Co-Founder, Editor-In-Chief

    Ed has been a journalist since 1977. Most of his career -- nearly 21 years -- was spent at The Baltimore Sun, where he served as Assistant Sports Editor, Financial Editor, Deputy Chief of the Anne Arundel Bureau and Sports/Business Beat Reporter. After a year with a PR firm, Ed joined The Maryland Daily Record as Managing Editor/Business. He is in charge of all content, as well as working with Roger Caplan on County Sports Zone's expansion.
