We founded Countdown because we believe that K12 school districts need better tools to develop effective teachers. Our first product helps districts develop and implement curriculum maps aligned to the new Common Core State Standards, so that teachers know what they need to teach, and when. With our software, teachers plan more effectively, driving better student results in an era of high accountability.

She currently works for the Lawrence Public Schools to implement effective data-driven instructional practices in nine of the district’s middle and elementary schools. Earlier she worked at The Achievement Network coaching district and charter school principals to implement performance management strategies in greater Boston, New York City and Newark resulting in substantial gain

    CTO & Co-Founder

    Matthew Rantz is the Co-Founder and CTO for Countdown. He has developed software and managed software teams in a wide range of industries from medical devices to CRM. Previously, Matt worked at Aptima building tools for the Air Force and Navy to help them assess how well an individual did during training. Prior to that, he worked at Philips Medical Systems helping to write software for AED's (portable defibrillators). Matt has a passion for techn
