CorkBalt company is rooted in the potential of the CORKBALT®, the first environmentally friendly composite material of high quality.
Composed of basalt fiber, corecork and ecologic resin, is the result of research of a material that is durable, lightweight, with high impact absorption and ecological. The junction of these three materials form a composite with similar characteristics to composites containing carbon fiber, being CorkBalt® ecologic.

    Director

    Graduated in architecture from the prestigious Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, Pedro Devesas has a wide experience in the field of architectural design and monitoring of construction.
    The most important for its relevance in the context of the Corkbalt, the projects for an ecological house having as base the concrete materials and Cork and the design of a house/prototype made of wood and cork.

  • Bruno Gomes
    Director

    Graduated in microbiology from the Portuguese Chatolic University, Bruno Gomes holds a master's degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Aveiro.
    He worked as a researcher at Ablynx biopharmaceutical company for 4 years. Currently is involved in the Corkbalt project and is Senior Research Associate at FairJourney Biologics.
    With experience in managing R&D projects, holds special competencies in the area of quality control.
