Convene is a mobile communication platform intended for higher education, specifically online classes. Convene was started because David Kampmann, as the Instructional Facilitator and an online educator, saw how ineffective email was as the communication tool in online classes. After looking for a solution, and not finding any, Convene was created as the new solution.

Convene was founded in early 2015, and was part of the Accelerator Program 2015 of the SDTBC. Convene is starting a Beta in October 2015 with instructors and students at Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls, SD.

Convene is run by David Kampmann. Currently, David covers sales, marketing, and user design. Hartman Technology of Sioux Falls, SD is contracted as the web app development team. As Convene grows, support personnel are first to be added, followed by account managers and sales.

Convene is focused on improving communication in higher education courses.
