Company Summary

The TransUrethral Catheterisation Safety Syringe (TUCSS) valve prevents inadvertent over-inflation of the urinary catheter anchoring balloon in the urethra during catheterisation, when used with any brand of catheter. No competing technology. Eventually 100% of products will be sold indirectly through third party distributors as an addition to their existing catheters or syringes. Irish made, using high speed automated assembly, minimising costs.

In 2006 he joined Stryker Innovation, EMEA for 4 years as an Innovation Project Manager commercialising new technologies.
    Rory holds a PhD in Tissue Engineering.

  • Dr. Niall Davis
    CMO

    Graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland and undertook basic surgical training with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI). He commenced his Higher Surgical Training in urology in Beaumont Hospital in July 2012 after completing a junior registrar year in the University of Limerick Teaching Hospital. He has also completed a PhD in tissue-engineering.

  • Experienced biomedical engineer and an expert in the field of fluid mechanics. He is a founding member of the Centre for Applied Biomedical Engineering Research (CABER) limerick, Ireland and responsible for raising over €5M in funding. Prof. Walsh is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and a member of both the Bernal Institute and the Health Research Institute. He is well published in both medical and engineering fields.

  • Mr. Gavin Leonard
    Business Development and Strategy Manager

    Mr. Leonard has been involved in the start phases of businesses in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Ireland and has seen success across the board in these start ups. Most recently Mr. Leonard has conducted the process of a trade sale involving a Class III medical device company. He has taken on this role with Class Medical to ensure the start up phase is completed in a timely and budget sensitive manner as part of the initial seed round.
