Company Summary
ClaimFame is a marketplace that pairs performing talent with content creators of all types. ClaimFame is an inclusive and transparent transactional platform suiting today's media environment: It embraces all types of talent – from professional actors to social-media performers – and all types of projects – from traditional film and TV to mobile to UGC content.
Professional acting alone is an $8 billion market, with more than 1 million roles cast each year. We expand upon that market by giving content creators access to a universe of more than 5 million non-professional performers, UGC stars, and aspirational celebrities. We intend to use casting as an entry-point to building an end-to-end talent management platform, from auditions to hiring and payment and social-media promotion.
The company is already generating revenue, having attracted more than 75,000 performers who have created talent profiles, and are now subscribing to premium plans with profitable economics. We forecast dual revenue streams, charging both content creators and performers for postings, subscriptions, and premium services.
The company was founded by Brian Hecht, a 20-year veteran of the digital media and e-commerce space, including multiple startups and exits. The former publisher of TheStreet.com, he is a nationally recognized expert on entrepreneurship and is active in the New York technology scene as an advisor to multiple accelerators and startups. His management team is also backed by hands-on advisors who are veterans of William Morris Agency, Backstage Magazine, Tumblr, and The New York Times.
