CinePass launched in April 2013 in Ecuador initially as a side project and grew organically to 45 000 installs by the end of 2014. Early 2015, the team started monetizing by selling direct advertising campaigns to agencies and movie distributors, reaching $40000 in sales in the first semester. In October 2015, CinePass launched in Colombia, followed by 7 other countries. It now has over 85 000 installs, 200K MAUs and 75% returning users.
