Company Summary

We are dedicated to the innovation, development, and improvement of optical and wireless applications as used for communications, networking, imaging, positioning, and remote sensing while helping to reduce energy consumption. Penn State and Georgia Tech are joint partners in the Center and are a NSF I/UCRC who work with industry members all collaborating on current research issues while supporting grad student work and development.

  • Mohsen Kavehrad
    Director

    Dr. Kavehrad is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at PSU and the Director of COWA among other affiliations. His research expertise includes wireless and wire-line communications and networking, channel propagation modeling, mobile multimedia, RF and optical communications and networking, optical imaging, remote sensing, smart lighting, applications of holography.

  • Erin Kulik Stinchcomb
    Operations Manager

    New to COWA, Ms. Stinchcomb assists in the marketing and recruitment of the Center; serves as liaison to the NSF I/UCRC Program, Industrial Advisory Board, PSU/GT Directors, Faculty, and Students, and prospective members; prepares documentation for the NSF; and manages COWA agreements, budgets, grants and contracts, intellectual property, project synopses, and annual and final reports.
